Ks, i have taken advice re the shut down during the kaspersky scan, and the feeling once again is that it is a heat issue.I think if you can get a can of air duster and blast some air through the vents(If you know where the fan is situated, see if you can feed something through the vent i use a piece of plastic garden tie, it's similar to the plastic tie for freezer bags but flatter to try and keep the fan still).Or better still if you are comfortable taking a laptop apart, as long as it isn't under warranty and you download the manual, you can get to the fan better that way.It is also possible to download a program to test the memory eg memtest.I hope these things help, can you let us know how you get on.
